Eatalian Weekend
Last weekend we locked work related stress at home, threw bikinis (me) and swimming trunks (M.) into a suitcase and off we went to Jesolo...tiny little city by the Adriatic coast just few minutes off Venice
The legend of Untersberg
...says that Emperor Frederick Barbarossa of the Holy Roman Empire is asleep inside Untersberg, taken care of by the "Untersberger Mandln", small dwarf-like creatures.
His beard is said to be growing longer and longer around a round table and to have grown round two times. Myth says that when the beard has grown three times around the table the end of world has come. Every hundred years he awakes and when he sees the ravens still flying around the Untersberg he sleeps for another century.
When Frederik leaves the mountain, the last great battle of humankind will be fought on the Walserfeld.
This is a field at Wals, west of Salzburg.

...limbs slightly hurting from walking (through and out the whole city) but energy levels restored; thoughts are back on track.. Perfect recipe!
(End of) February, for us, was a month of Nordic culture/ architechture/ fashion/ culinary re-discoveries and people watching (this is the only place I have seen so far, where people pull off Converse trainers extreamly elegant and with .. the certain je-ne-sais-quoi) we went to Stockholm
Melkij was happy more than anyone alse, since it was his first trip this year!
(and pyjamas were keeping me warm in between of running ins - rushing outs to dinner/ bars as they promised)
What I liked was:
...eating and seeing ELKS (chocolate, smoking pipe and real ones @ Skansen, which is on Djurgården) EVERYWHERE! cute!
...drinking cup of hot chocolate in a small chocolatier on Stortorget, (which is a main square in Gamla Stan) after a stroll under wet snow and pig puddles
...eating lunch @ Saluhallen on Östermalmstorg
...having dinners @ Riche on Birger Jarlsgatan 4 - which also has a great bar! and @ Marie Laveau on Hornsgatan 66
...none of the clubs were discovered this time, as to be quite frank, we would come back to our hotel's bar area for drinks - to the bar with no menu, on Skeppsbron 12
...shopping @ NK on Hamngatan 18-20 and @ Urban Outfitters - an old cinema building!- on Biblioteksgatan 5 and also peeking through middle of Östermalm & Norrmalm boroughs
...getting stationary @ BookbindersDesign on Humlegårdsgatan 19, where they tailor-make your bindings (duh!) with fresh colours and elegant materials. And one of their logos is "Dont Forget To Write"... so we ran and posted postcards (which we always do anyway:) )
Wien
SERVAS!
Big fat verdict: I cannot eat anymore... Seriously, peoples, how do you do it? :) Eating meat for 4 days in a row is not funny....
Anyway, I am here [Wien] for another week, and with a lot of time on my hands until the 31st, since M had to fly to London today! *boooo hoooooo!*
Until I explore houses/streets/museums in Jugendstil (for a millionth time), I tell you friendly what I have done:
* Eaten, eaten and eaten, again. On top of the home cooking, we went to Plachutta to overdose on (drum sounds) MEAT! Arrrggghhh! :)))
* Played Monopoly (I lost and I cried); Scotland Yard ( I won. once. 5 months ago); a funny dice game (even winning!)
* Had some warm chestnuts and walked on Graben...
* And Sunday evening was dedicated to a London reunion in Vienna at the Loos bar...
Now my agenda consists of walking, visiting Hawelka, going to Albertina and very geeky - finishing my Boris Akunin books...
Untill any other news:
P.S. message to: Alesia!
Yep, photographic mojo close to full restoration with the Leica lens ;) Wait till I come back (and wont fit into the door) :)
Have a lovely evening!
Horsey rocks! and other stuff…
Yello! It's been a while - one knows!
I have a few things on my Monday mind I want to share:
*First of all -I love Mondays!
Really! Simple as that! Am I the first to say this?
Especially, when I open my eyes and it’s sunny and I have a day off – like today!
I drink my coffe, and then I do all my things in a manner I am used to – there is an order. And this is “my” time… mmm and It’s my answer to your Sunday! ha ha:)
Ok, I admit there is a flaw in my Monday system - on Mondays M's working..boohoo!
*Buuut! I have a new model/travel friend – please meet The Horsey.

Horsey came back with us [to London] from Austria, where we were during the Easter Holidays...
He is actually a Kinder Surprise toy. As a complete sucker – I couldn’t raise my hand and throw him away. Neither could M - just look at him, isn't he cuuuuuuute?
Yep! so we kept him – this grumpy little toy.
And yesterday we decided to make him known to the World – e.g. to all of you, guys!
So from now on he will travel with us and Melki Jnr (my plush bull-terrier) everywhere!
Forgot to mention - .."Hi, my name is Anna, and I am 5"...
*Saw Julia few days ago – for a small project of mine... But until I can reveal anything – shhhhh!
